Root River is Green - Algae Bloom? Anti-freeze? It's acrid smelly, so maybe just lawn chemicals (causing a bloom).. it's not cool, that's for sure...

I realize Root River in West Allis, WI, is a polluted mess, but it was still odd to see it with what appears to be an algae bloom this early in the warm weather. It also smells a bit acrid, so I'm not completely sure it's algae. It's probably all the lawn chemicals, but who knows. If anyone has more information on what this is, please send a note to info@soul-amp.com. Thanks.

Here's an angry tune:

Here's a post on just mulching you leaves so you don't have to use fertilizer:

(I've been mulching for years and my lawn is a green as the rest of them...except that guy down the block who is using some kind of radioactive material that makes his glow green...)
